Galactic Beams:

The Sun & Cosmic Rays; Science & Prophecy.

Related image

Here we are in 2020. Some are embarking on the new decade with optimism, and others with apprehension. This week I have been looking to both science and prophecy for clues as to what we can expect. The key themes that caught my attention were: changes in the Sun and cosmic radiation; Earth changes, including earthquakes and volcanic eruptions; the coming of a new age and a new human.

Cosmic radiation has hit a five-year high and is approaching record high values, as the Sun sets a new record for spotlessness (days without sunspots), according to the record-keeping system that started when the Space Age began in 1957 (marked by the launch of the Soviet Union’s Sputnik). During 2019, the Sun was without spots for 270 days or 77% of the time (as of 16 December). The Sun’s magnetic field weakens during solar minimums, allowing deep space cosmic radiation to flood the Solar System.

The Earth’s magnetic field protects our planet from solar and cosmic rays that could be harmful, like a giant shield. As the planetary poles move around, that shield is weakened – scientists estimate that it could waste away to as little as a tenth of its usual force. The expected Cosmic radiation isn’t hitting the surface yet. But at some point, when the magnetic field has dwindled enough, it will be a different story.

The dangers: potentially devastating streams of particles from the Sun, galactic cosmic rays, and enhanced ultraviolet B rays from a radiation-damaged ozone layer, are just a few of the invisible forces that could harm or kill living creatures.

So, the magnetic field is shifting; the poles may flip; the shield that protects Earth from solar radiation is losing strength. How bad could it get? Well, according to there are over 7.755 Billion people on Earth today. In recent centuries we humans have drastically changed the chemistry of the atmosphere and the ocean with our activities, impairing the life support system of the planet. We have built huge cities, industries and networks of roads, cutting off access to safer living spaces for many other creatures in the process. We have pushed up to a third of all known species toward extinction and have imperiled the habitats of many more. Add cosmic and ultraviolet radiation into the mix, and the consequences for life on Earth could be dire.

It is helpful to know a little more about how the Sun, and our Solar System, works. Scientist Jamal Shrair has explained that the Sun, and all the planets along with it, travels along through the Milky Way in a helical pattern, rather than going around flatly on a dish-shaped plane. In other words, imagine the Solar System as a whole unit (technically it is the ‘Heliosphere’), winding its way like a corkscrew along the galactic plane. As the Sun spirals up and down in the galaxy, the intensity of its magnetic field fluctuates greatly. When it spirals up to its highest point above the galactic plane, the intensity of its magnetic field reaches its ultimate strength and, when it reaches its lowest point below the galactic plane, the opposite is true.

In his book Helical Universe, Dr Shrair writes, “There is a long list of observations from the last one hundred years (especially in the last three decades) to show that the Sun is approaching its highest point above the galactic plane. The magnetic field of the Sun has increased in strength by more than 230% during the 20th century alone. The change in the Sun’s magnetic field is also obvious from solar cycle activities, timing and duration, which physicists are no longer able to explain (solar minimums and solar maximums).”

So, that’s where things stand from a scientific point of view. What have psychically-gifted people predicted?

In light of current events going on in the world today, many people have been looking anew at a prophecy made 75 years ago by a man who was called ‘The Master’ by his followers. Peter Konstantinov Deunov, better-known by his spiritual name Beinsa Douno (born 1864), was a Bulgarian philosopher and spiritual teacher who developed a form of Esoteric Christianity known as the ‘Universal White Brotherhood.’

He left a prophecy that he obtained while in a state of trance, just a week before he passed away in December 1944. This prophecy seems to fit the times we are going through right now, in relation to the shift in consciousness, the earth-changes and the anticipated coming of a Golden Age. He made it clear that the events he saw would occur some decades after his time. Following are a few selected paragraphs from his “Last Word.” To read the whole text, go HERE.

A gradual improvement is already occurring in the thoughts, sentiments and acts of humans, but everybody will soon be subjugated to divine Fire, that will purify and prepare them in regards to the New Era. Thus man will raise himself to a superior degree of consciousness, indispensable to his entrance to the New Life. That is what one understands by ‘Ascension’. Some decades will pass before this Fire will come, that will transform the world by bringing it a new moral. This immense wave comes from cosmic space and will inundate the entire earth. All those that attempt to oppose it will be carried off and transferred elsewhere. Although the inhabitants of this planet do not all find themselves at the same degree of evolution, the new wave will be felt by each one of us. And this transformation will not only touch the Earth, but the ensemble of the entire Cosmos.”

“Everything that is around you will soon collapse and disappear. Nothing will be left of this civilization nor its perversity; the entire earth will be shaken and no trace will be left of this erroneous culture that maintains men under the yoke of ignorance. Earthquakes are not only mechanical phenomena, their goal is also to awaken the intellect and the heart of humans, so that they liberate themselves from their errors and their follies and that they understand that they are not the only ones in the universe.”

“Our solar system is now traversing a region of the Cosmos where a constellation that was destroyed left its mark, its dust. This crossing of a contaminated space is a source of poisoning, not only for the inhabitants of the earth, but for all the inhabitants of the other planets of our galaxy. Only the suns are not affected by the influence of this hostile environment.”

“The New Era is that of the sixth race. Your predestination is to prepare yourself for it, to welcome it and to live it. The sixth race will build itself around the idea of Fraternity. There will be no more conflicts of personal interests; the single aspiration of each one will be to conform himself to the Law of Love. The sixth race will be that of Love. A new continent will be formed for it. It will emerge from the Pacific, so that the Most High can finally establish His place on this planet […] The words “If you are not born again” apply to the sixth race.”

“A new culture will see the light of day, it will rest on three principal foundations: the elevation of woman, the elevation of the meek and humble, and the protection of the rights of man […] Under the earth, something extraordinary is preparing itself. A revolution that is grandiose and completely inconceivable will manifest itself soon in nature.”

On the subject of geological upheavals, aside from earthquakes, volcanic activity is always a concern and I will finish here back in the sphere of science rather than prophecy: Dr Jamal Shrair has written an article for The Watchers in the past few days (see reference below), in which he says, in part: “I have been saying for years that global volcanic activity is on the rise and it’s now obvious that volcanoes are erupting at a faster pace, not only around the ring of fire but also around the entire globe. Even dormant and extinct volcanoes are becoming active again.”

Dr Shrair goes on to list a number of volcanoes that are stirring at present, in regions such as Italy, Chile, PNG, Africa and Indonesia (which has several). I know from following the weekly volcano round-up published by The Watchers that there are many more under observation, including those in Japan. And of course we are all painfully aware of the recent eruption of the White Island volcano in New Zealand.

He continues: “The first question anyone would ask is why there is an increase in volcanic activity? And secondly, why are even dormant volcanoes becoming active? And how can a dead volcano come back to life? If you are going to ask these questions to any mainstream geologist or geophysicist, you are not going to get real scientific answers. Because there is no way these questions can be explained with current theories. This is the reason why the mainstream has averted the issue altogether. But, of course, all geophysicists, especially volcanologists know very well that there is a massive increase in volcanic activities. This fact is overwhelmingly clear from short- and long-term statistics.”

In the end, the best we can do is be prepared – mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

The Sun and Your Cycles of Fortune

Image result for cycles of fortune

As someone who has belonged to the mystical Rosicrucian fraternity for 25 years and studied the system of Cosolargy for 5 years, some of my less spiritually-inclined friends think I am disinterested in the practicalities of the day-to-day secular world. That is not the case. Mysticism is in a fact a very practical application and, for me at least, the goal of any spiritual pursuit must be to improve one’s life. These undertakings need to be rewarding and enjoyable if they are to fulfill their purpose.

Over the years I have learned some beneficial techniques from various sources, some of which are only revealed to initiates after careful preparation, and others that are available to the general public, at least in a condensed version. One field that is always of popular interest is how to attract good fortune, i.e. success in health, wealth, career and relationships.

There is no doubt that we humans have free will. Some people complain that they always have bad luck or are doomed to constantly suffer for no apparent reason. Naturally there are occurrences in this world that are beyond your control but, when it comes to how you react to adverse situations and how you chart the course of your life in the most favourable direction, there are only two possibilities: you are either the master of your destiny, or you are a victim of fate.

Most humans on this planet are conscious that their lives are governed by cycles and rhythms. Nikola Tesla said that if we wanted to understand the universe we should think in terms of vibration and frequency. Unquestionably, the frequencies and cycles that primarily govern our lives are those of the Sun and the Moon. We measure their movement, in relationship to the rotation of planet Earth, on our clocks and calendars and, in doing so, the numbers twelve and seven appear prominently. Today I want to show how cycles of SEVEN may be applied usefully.

The number seven has always held great significance for those interested in mysticism. According to Manly P Hall, it is because humankind is controlled by seven celestial spirits – which I assume correspond to the seven rays expounded by the Theosophists. For those who are religiously inclined, the ancient Jews numbered the Elohim as being seven, while Christians count seven archangels. Lest we stray into the realms of superstition, let’s look at some ways in which SEVEN influences our lives, that we may not have considered before.

Many readers will already be aware that our entire lives can be segmented roughly into seven-years lots. Like many others, I can pinpoint major changes that I underwent in my own life at the ages of 7, 14, 21 and so on. Also, it is said that our physical bodies replace dead cells with new ones in such a way that our bodies are completely reconstituted every seven years.

Breaking that down even further, we can look at each year of our lives as seven periods of 52 days each… we are of course used to doing that the other way around, i.e. 52 weeks comprising seven days each. If you’d like to continue following this line of thought, it needs to be done individually. In other words, don’t take the start of the year, for this particular purpose, as being 1st January, but begin on your own birthday. Rather than make this blog really long, you can find one example of this calculation online HERE. When looking at it, you will notice that the fifth period of 52-days is said to be the most successful, while the seventh cycle is described as being the “most critical.”

But here is the cycle that will probably be of most interest to the reader, due to its more immediate relevance and ease of application: this is the Daily Cycle which divides each 24-hour period into seven segments of approximately 3 hours and 25 minutes each, with each of these mini-cycles influencing us in noticeable ways. Here is what you need to know: you must use the time zone where you live; if your area is on daylight savings time, ignore it and use the normal time (which is based on GMT +/- for your zone).

Next, you will notice that the influences prevailing over each time period are not the same every day – it changes according to the day of the week. Below is a ready-reckoner, and after that is a brief description of the impulses and affects you can expect from each of the seven daily cycles, on any given day of the week. For the following table I have drawn on the work of H. Spencer Lewis PhD (1883-1939) and, for those interested in reading his full explanation of this Daily Cycle in his book Self Mastery and Fate with the Cycles of Life, you can download a PDF copy HERE. Dr Lewis noted that the letters corresponded with the seven musical notes A to G.

No. 7 8:34 p.m. to Midnight F B E A D G C

Here is a brief summary of each of the seven Daily Cycles.
A: This is the time to come up with new plans; ask favours of persons in high positions; build up legal & financial relationships or ask for a stay in legal proceedings. It is not a good time to loan people money, especially for business ventures; to discuss marital problems or to have surgery.

B: This is a good period for art, music, drama or sensual affairs. It is a good time for things happening in a social way; for hiring staff or engaging agents; an excellent time for buying livestock or collecting outstanding accounts. It’s not a great time to depart on long journeys or setting new long-term ambitions.

C: This time of day is good for education, study, scientific research, printing, publishing and writing important letters. It is also good for getting therapy or taking medicine. But it is negative for getting married or dealing in real estate. Be on guard against fraudsters.

D: This period is fortuitous for marriage, farming (especially planting), having surgical operations, setting off on journeys, and for all kinds of maritime interests including shipping and transport. It is not favourable for signing legal documents, borrowing loans or starting a new venture.

E: This is a good time for going to court; for starting serious new pursuits that you’ve long been thinking about; starting sales & advertising promotions and moving into a new house. But it’s bad for speculating on the stock market, making new contracts other than real estate, and not a good time for new farming operations/planting, or commencing journeys by water.

F: This is the most fortunate part of the day, the “lucky period.” Good for starting new business, signing new contracts, meeting new people, collecting or raising money, buying and selling real estate, marriage, literary work, legal affairs, seeking favours, setting out on journeys. They only things it doesn’t seem to favour are transport/shipping of goods or the hiring of junior/menial workers.

G: This is the time to undertake affairs that require more physical exertion than thinking. It favours aggressiveness, endurance and persistency. It will be successful for dealing with mechanical problems, inventions, building plans and scientific pursuits. It is not a positive period for humanitarian activities, for receiving gifts or favours, and it can be a time of accidents or illness – be careful to avoid being in risky situations.

Whether you are aware of it or not, the Sun is the primary driving force for all the cycles, rhythms and frequencies on our planet and the beings who inhabit it. I have written in my book Here Comes the Sun about our 28-day biorhythms, which start from your day of birth and whose composition of 4 weeks times 7 days roughly correspond with the Lunar cycle. The most pronounced effects produced by the 28-day cycle are on our Psyche. There are websites which enable you to produce a tailor-made biorhythm chart, and which help explain why you are experiencing life the way you are on any particular day, and give you an insight on the days that will be beneficial to your plans, and those that will be adverse.

King Solomon wrote, in the Book of Ecclesiastes:
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to reap that which is planted.

Solar Crop Circles

Are We Ignoring Messages from the Sun?

The Six Suns Crop Circle at Mixon, Nr Etchilhampton, Wiltshire. on 10th August 2018

Crop Circles have been a source of derision for some years now among the general ‘consensus reality’ tribes. Whenever I mention them to my sceptical friends, I am usually greeted with something like, “Don’t you know that was all proved fake years ago when those two old English farmers confessed they had been doing it as a hoax?” (Referring to Doug Bower and Dave Chorley in 1991). That’s despite hundreds of Circles continuing to appear all around the world every year since then – with France being the new “hot spot” this year. I don’t know if Doug’n’Dave are still alive but, if they are, they must be fairly fatigued by now.

Two things rekindled my interest in Crop Circles this week. One was on an episode of Ancient Aliens (History Channel) – demonstrating Cymatics – where sand was spread over a metal plate and subjected to sound waves at a certain frequency to produce organized patterns (which could be how Crop Circles are produced). The other was a book – part of The Awakening series (2017) – by local author Pane Andov I had been re-reading, and in which he connected certain Crop Circles to the Sun.

According to Andov, there was supposed to be a noticeable change in our Sun in December 2012, in accordance with the end of a 5,126-year cycle of the Mayan long-count calendar, but it was thwarted by dark forces. This involved, in part, massive planet-sized UFOs sucking plasma out of our Sun, which I had also blogged about in February 2017 and April 2016 .

In the same book, Andov analyzed Crop Circles which he said demonstrated a transition between the Fifth Sun and the Sixth Sun, or dying of the old Sun and rebirth of the new Sun. He expresses disappointment the predicted geological changes did not occur in December 2012. Like many others, he had expected an ‘overnight’ ascension. However, I think if we could project ourselves into the future, we would look back at the present time, as we roll from the second decade of this century into the 2020s, as being the short period in which the old humanity began to disappear and the New Humans emerged on planet Earth.

I have a book by Gareth J Owen called Crop Circles, Lights & Orbs which I recommend to anyone interested in the subject. Owen’s style is witty and entertaining and, while he is the first to admit there are many hoaxes, his investigations led him to conclude much stranger things exist than he had previously imagined, as his attention was equally drawn to the phenomenon of Orbs. I am personally convinced that the increased sightings of Spheres and Orbs are connected to the Sun, and they may well be what has been termed Intelligent Plasma.

What has been said about UFOs also applies to Crop Circles: consider that if just one – just one – of the thousands of reported incidents is actually the result of extraterrestrial and/or interdimensional intelligence, does that not change everything currently accepted by the mainstream as being the ‘truth’?

According to author Freddy Silva on his Invisible Temple website, “Eighty people have witnessed crop circles manifesting in less than fifteen seconds. Many describe a descending tube of light that rotates and bends the plants without causing any damage.” He goes on to add, “people cannot steam plants at right angles without damage, alter the local gravitational field, change the mineral structure of the soil, encode unknown mathematical theorems, or apply permanent electro-magnetic signatures when attempting to replicate crop circles.”

My interest is in the Crop Circles that are said to be giving us information on the new Sun. Over the past two decades some Crop Circles have incorporated an aspect known as the ‘Mayan connection,’ based on themes from the Aztec-Mayan culture.

There is evidence that whoever, or whatever created these Crop Circles designed them as time-pieces for the current era by means of an ancient Sun-Venus calendar that the Mayans and Aztecs used in central America long ago, along with their famous Long Count calendar. Both calendars appeared in the English Crop Circles pictured below: one at Silbury Hill in 2004; the other at Woolstone Hill in 2005.

Is it coincidence that these images appeared at this particular time in history, just as one five-millennia-old Mayan Sun ends and another begins? The Long Count calendar ended on December 21, 2012, marking an end to the Fifth Sun which had begun on August 13, 3114 BC. Likewise, their Sun-Venus calendar ended on March 28, 2013, marking an end to the 52-year cycle of Venus which had begun on April 10, 1961, and also marking the start of the new 5000-year cycle of the Sixth Sun.

The Phoenix Crop Circle (below) that appeared in Wiltshire in 2009 also belongs in the ‘Solar’ category. According to Crop Circle enthusiasts, in that picture, our old Sun has been compared metaphorically to the ancient phoenix bird, which lays its eggs in fire and then dies. From the ashes, a new phoenix or new Sun is born. Thus, it was alerting us to the advent of the Sixth Sun. The avian element is also relevant, as I wrote in my article The Rise of the Sun Bird in the new edition of Australian Esoteric Magazine #26.

The points I am offering here for your consideration are:
Even if you didn’t notice it, the Sun renewed itself in December 2012.
The Sun may be both conscious and intelligent.
We are vanguards of the new epoch of the Sixth Sun.
Solar Crop Circles contain messages that we should be trying to interpret, while we can.

We ignore these messages at our peril!

The Heart – The Inner Sun

The Movie titled Time of the Sixth Sun was re-released online this week and I watched it again, although I have not viewed all the accompanying short videos that are being released each day after it. I find the ideas contained in it to be a bit scattered, and each of the guests who appear in it express diverse opinions that relate to whatever discipline they practice – they all agree that a new age is upon us, however the details of it are fairly sketchy.

They start out on the right track when, at about 11 to 13 minutes into the 1hr 50min movie, Dan Schreiber says (and I must paraphrase, this is not verbatim) The Sun is a living energetic being; the heart is like an internal Sun. He is followed immediately by Peruvian elder Jorge Luis Delgado who makes reference to Father Sun, telling us We can send the Sun’s energy to all the cells in our body – which are like little Suns – to awaken the body so you can experience the Light in you, the Light that you are.

The other guest I enjoyed hearing from was Drunvalo Melchizedek, whose work I have followed for many years, including his book Living in the Heart. At one point in the film he declares that the heart is a portal. I have written in other articles about how our Sun is also a portal, and that the golden orb we see in the sky has an unseen counterpart that is the source of our life energy. Philo of Alexandria called it The Sun of the Sun – Ancient Egyptian and Greek teachers said the Sun we see is just the physical form of a higher ‘Intelligible or Spiritual Sun.’

In the same way, people have always taken it for granted that there is an invisible counterpart to the human heart. When we talk about our ‘heart of hearts,’ or not ‘having the heart for something,’ or giving our heart away in love, we are not talking about the bodily organ that pumps blood around our system, are we? Note how often people point to their heart when referring to themselves. It corresponds to the notion of putting your ‘heart and soul’ into something.

The sketch at the top of this page is from the 17th century Hermetic philosopher Robert Fludd, who taught that the intelligible heart was in fact a ‘little Sun’ within the human being, connected to, and animated by, the great Sun we see in the sky. Fludd’s perception was informed by his medical training and firsthand understanding of human anatomy. He naturally compared the position of the Sun to the position of the heart after having observed that each object was located at the mathematical centre of their respective domains. It was on this assumption that Fludd conceived of the circulation of the blood – although it was his friend and colleague William Harvey who is credited as the first known physician to publicly describe this completely in detail.

In the past I have written articles about how the best way to absorb Sun-light is through the eyes, but lately I have had some adverse reaction to that from commentators on social media, and I respect that. You should not try Sun-gazing without the correct training and supervision (I always add that caveat, but it seems to get ignored). The good news is that we also absorb the Sun’s rays through our skin – in fact, that’s acknowledged as the best way to obtain vitamin D. You don’t need to get yourself sunburnt – just 20 minutes exposure around mid-morning on sunny days is advisable.

While we are receiving the Sun on the physical level, we are also benefitting from the Sun behind the Sun, i.e. its spiritual energy. It must be acknowledged that there is a right and a wrong way to receive the Sun’s Light, which is why I joined the organization known as Cosolargy – they teach the same techniques that were practiced in Ancient Egypt and South America. What I can say here is that the Sun should always be approached with respect in your heart, keeping in mind the words at the beginning of this article that it is a living energetic being.

Once this energy reaches your inner being, it may be circulated throughout your psychic self and your whole electromagnetic field, by means of the inner heart, that mini-Sun that lights you from within. When discussing these matters it is natural to consider the solar plexus, by virtue of its very name. This cluster is described as ‘solar’ because of its radiating nerve fibres and it follows that its energetic counterpart is also a centre for radiation, used by spiritual healers and light-workers. So, the inner heart receives and circulates the power of the Higher Sun, while the force centre located behind the solar plexus allows us to distribute and share it with those around us.

Today I was scouting around on the internet to compare what others have to say on the subject and found the diagram below on a website belonging to Padmacahaya, which is interesting as they go to some length to pinpoint the ‘location’ of the inner heart, so I will finish with that image as additional food for thought on the unseen centres of power.

Solar Fire and Ice

The Climatic Effects of our Sun and its Brown Dwarf Companion

Among the many articles that landed in my in-box this week was a piece originally posted on the website of, speculating that the record number of days without sunspots this year (“spotless days”) predicts a Grand Solar Minimum that will lead into another mini-ice-age – to start in the 2030s and unfold over the ensuing decades.

Over the past few years I have been following this theory, and six months ago in issue #23 of my online magazine Australian Esoteric, I included a brief summary of some of my blogs on the matter, under the heading Insights into the Prediction of a Mini Ice Age. (I drew a lot of information from the Russian theoretical astrophysicist Valentina Zharkova, whose work is readily available on You-Tube). While such a scenario – already dubbed the Eddy Minimum (after the late John Allen “Jack” Eddy) – may well still eventuate, I have received some advice from scientist Jamal Shrair setting me straight on this.

Dr Shrair has reminded me that mainstream physicists do not understand that solar cycles depend on the external energy supply that the Sun receives. As soon as that extensive supply decreases, massive sunspots can be formed in just a matter of a few days – i.e. the “spotless” period could come to an end very suddenly. He stands by his claim that we should experience a destructive solar flare by next year (2020).

An important factor in understanding Jamal Shrair’s work is knowing that our Sun has a companion Brown Dwarf star, and some scientists have already referred to it over recent years by the name of Nemesis. As far as I can tell, it is probably also the celestial body that has been hailed by others as Planet X, coming in toward us from the Oort Cloud on the outer side of the Heliosphere. Brown Dwarfs are hard to see.

This should not surprise us – our closest neighbouring stars are binaries. The nearest to us is Alpha Centauri (4.3 light years away) which is a triple star system, and another close neighbour (at 8.7 light years away), Sirius – which is also the brightest in our sky – is a binary system. It is speculated that up to 85% of stars in the universe are in binary systems, with some in triple or even higher-multiple systems. Jamal Shrair looks at the big picture and notes that stars do not exist independently of one another, but rather in groups and clusters. He says that our Sun seems to be a ‘subpart’ of the Pleiades system.

So not only are our climate and geological events under the effect of our Sun, but also its companion Brown Dwarf. I asked Jamal Shrair when it might become visible to us here on Earth and he responded, “I believe it should be seen by space watchers by next year 2020, its impact on the earth and especially on the planets at the far end of the solar system is already obvious. However, when it gets near its orbital speed will increase and also, it becomes detectable. since it will start reflecting the light of the Sun.”

He goes on to point out that current science always measures the impacts of celestial bodies in terms of their gravitational impact, but in reality, the impacts are magnetic and, brown dwarfs – being very dense – possess very strong magnetic fields. He sees this as our biggest concern and says that as the Sun’s companion gets closer, the stress on Earth’s magnetic field will increase, resulting in huge geological and climate events – which are hard for us to imagine right now.

Another email to hit my in-box this week was an announcement by Theo van Dort about the re-release of the movie Time of the Sixth Sun on 6th November. Interested readers may want to Google that. The thing I really want to stress is, regardless of whether we experience a huge solar flare next year, or head into a mini-ice-age a decade from now, or both, it is time we understood that our Sun is not exactly the way it has been explained to us by mainstream science.

Regarding the ‘Sixth Sun’ concept – according to Wikipedia: “The term Five Suns in the context of creation myths, describes the doctrine of the Aztec and other Nahua peoples in which the present world was preceded by four other cycles of creation and destruction. […] the central tenet was that there had been four worlds, or “Suns”, before the present universe. These earlier worlds and their inhabitants had been created, then destroyed by the catastrophic action of leading deity figures. The present world is the fifth Sun, and the Aztec saw themselves as “the People of the Sun,” whose divine duty was to wage cosmic war in order to provide the sun with his tlaxcaltiliztli (nourishment). Without it, the Sun would disappear from the heavens.”

If the potential world upheavals concern you and you sense that our Sun is changing, I invite you to investigate the system of COSOLARGY and see if it resonates with you.

When the Sun Spins in the Sky

The crowds at Fátima wait for a miracle on Oct. 13, 1917.

Last Sunday was the anniversary of an event known as The Miracle of the Sun that occurred at Fatima, Portugal, a hundred-and-two years ago. Lest you think the event was isolated or insignificant, I would like to mention other cases of similar Solar Miracles that I have explored and written about in the past, including: Medjugorje in Bosnia; Georgia, USA; Misamis Oriental, Philippines.

My personal experience had led me to understand that, once you come to see the Sun is not a ball of fire in the sky, but an intelligent sphere of plasma having its origins in higher dimensions, you are able to establish a rapport with it if you wish. If you are not familiar with the four examples below, take a few minutes to read over the facts and see if you begin to sense there is more to the majestic Solar Orb than you’ve previously acknowledged.

The Miracle of the Sun occurred just after midday on Sunday 13th October 1917, witnessed by a large crowd gathered near Fátima, Portugal. Estimates of the number of people present range from 30,000 to 40,000 (by Avelino de Almeida, writing for the Portuguese newspaper O Século), up to 100,000 (estimated by Dr. Joseph Garrett, professor of natural sciences at the University of Coimbra), both of whom were present on that day, along with several newspaper reporters who took testimony from people who saw the extraordinary solar activity. The event was visible by onlookers up to 18 kilometres away, precluding the theory of a collective hallucination or mass hysteria, and Pope Pius XII himself witnessed the Miracle of the Sun from the Vatican gardens.

Of the very many vivid accounts recorded by the noted Father John De Marchi, here are a couple of examples:
The silver Sun, enveloped in the same gauzy grey light, was seen to whirl and turn in the circle of broken clouds … The light turned a beautiful blue, as if it had come through the stained-glass windows of a cathedral, and spread itself over the people who knelt with outstretched hands.” (By a reporter for the Lisbon newspaper O Dia).
As if like a bolt from the blue, the clouds were wrenched apart, and the Sun at its zenith appeared in all its splendour. It began to revolve vertiginously on its axis, like the most magnificent firewheel that could be imagined, taking on all the colours of the rainbow and sending forth multicoloured flashes of light, producing the most astounding effect. This sublime and incomparable spectacle, which was repeated three distinct times, lasted for about ten minutes.” (By priest Dr Manuel Formigão).

Medjugorje is a town located in the Herzegovina region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, close to the border of Croatia. On the 24th June 1981 the town experienced something akin to Fatima, with the Sun dancing in the sky and six children claiming to have received a message delivered from the Virgin Mary. The messages attributed to ‘Our Lady of Medjugorje’ have a strong following worldwide – they are still being received up to the present day, and a number of websites have recorded the messages.  The town has become one of the most popular pilgrimage sites for Catholics in the world and each year more than 1 million people visit. It is estimated that 30 million pilgrims have gone there since the 1981 event.

Many attendees have reported visual phenomena including the Sun spinning in the sky, flickering and strobing or changing colour, with figures such as hearts and crosses circling around the solar disc. A lot of witnesses say they are able to look directly at the shining orb without suffering eye damage. Jesuit Father Robert Faricy has written about his own experience of such phenomena, saying, “Yet I have seen rosaries which have changed colour, and I have looked directly at the Sun in Medjugorje and have seen it seem to spin and turn different colours. It would be easier to report that it is just hysteria except that I would then have to accuse myself of being hysterical, which I was not and am not.”
Many people have recorded the strange solar events on camera and their footage can be found on YouTube. Of course, there those who claim that the pictures have been tampered with, but then how do the images happen to concur with what thousands of eye-witnesses are saying they are seeing?

There is another case of similar occurrences in the town of Conyers, Georgia, USA, where according to a New York Times report in 1998, “Worshipers pray and sing, and aim their camcorders at the sky, hoping to record the flickering of the Sun or perhaps the opening of the door to heaven.”  At the centre of it all is a middle-aged mother, Nancy Fowler, and she – like others where such happenings occur – also claims to communicate with the Virgin Mary.

At noon on the thirteenth day of every month, thousands of people who have come from all parts of the world, gather at Conyers to watch the event. They report that the Sun becomes pure white light and that a smaller white disc sometimes circles it.  The solar disc also ‘blinks.’  It is said that on some occasions golden powder or rose petals fall from the sky.

Video of the solar phenomenon has been caught on camera and posted to YouTube – concurring with what witnesses say they actually see. Mrs Fowler says that Mary tells her to warn us about an impending war with China. Maybe that is the third mysterious secret of Fatima that has been hushed up by the Vatican?

The Divine Mercy Shrine, which is located in Divine Mercy Hills, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, Philippines is yet another prominent location where this occurs. At the initial gathering on what has become known as Divine Mercy Sunday, in April 2001, a rainbow first appeared over the head of statue of Jesus and along with an inexplicable phenomenon – more than 10,000 attendees witnessed an astonishing solar event that took place and continues to occur on subsequent Feast Days of the Divine Mercy. It is seen with the naked eye – the Sun’s changing forms and colour. The Sun is said to look like an opaque disk that is ‘spinning like a pinwheel in the sky.’ This miraculously claimed phenomenon is considered by the religious (Christian) Filipino population to be a ‘divine and supernatural manifestation.’

One website which incorporates a video of the event reports that, “The clouds broke, and from behind the mountains, the Sun came out as an opaque disc in the sky. The Sun danced, changed colours, spun like a pinwheel, and made a most sensational demonstration.”

I am uncertain why these events are often linked with the Virgin Mary – is it because of the Catholic predisposition of the host countries, or is something more going on? But it does demonstrate there is an interaction taking place between earthly mortals and the solar disc.

Will the Sun Lash Out at Us?

I write a lot about the benefits of the Sun, and feel just a twinge of sadness as I must also acknowledge that, just like the reputation of the Hindu deity Shiva, our star may be thought of as both Creator and Destroyer. It has lashed out at our planet in the past by way of solar flares causing geomagnetic storms, and some believe we are due for another massive one.

Recently I have exchanged emails with Dr Jamal Shrair and acquired a copy of his book, Helical Universe. Dr Shrair has told me, “As I have indicated many times before, the Sun is now located in high energy region and approaching the most dense one, therefore, the chance for massive solar flare is almost certain and it is going to be a devastating one.” He later added, “A destructive solar flare is certain, and it will hit in the near future.” To clarify what he means by the near future, he posted elsewhere that it will happen “for sure if not this year then next year.”

It becomes clear when reading Jamal Shrair’s work that even as scientists make new discoveries, there is reluctance by them to discard certain outdated notions that have become ‘sacred’ to the mainstream – a point in question being the so-called speed of light. One example of the ‘helical nature’ of our universe is that photons of light travel in a helical path. Science has based its calculations of distances on light travelling in a straight line from the Sun to Earth. This being the case, Dr Shrair reasons that those little photons of light must actually be moving faster than previously thought – and the Sun itself must be considerably closer to us than the currently assumed 150 million kilometres.

As part of his explanations of how our whole solar system follows a helical trajectory through the galaxy, Jamal Shrair asserts that the Sun is the primary factor in climate changes taking place on Earth (just as it is on all the other planets in our solar system at the same time). He is not alone in saying this – it was expressed by Dr Alexey Dmitriev about 20 years ago in his work, The Planetophysical State of the Earth and Life, where he wrote that there is external energy coming from interstellar space, which produces ‘hybrid processes and excited energy states in the Sun’ (as well as all the planets). Dmitriev stated in 1998, “The climatic and biosphere processes here on Earth (through a tightly connected feedback system) are directly impacted by, and linked back to, the general overall transformational processes taking place in our Solar System. We must begin to organize our attention and thinking to understand that climatic changes on Earth are only one part, or link, in a whole chain of events taking place in our Heliosphere.”

Dmitriev later added, “The adaptive responses of the biosphere, and humanity, to these new conditions may lead to a total global revision of the range of species and life on Earth.”

My readers will probably already be aware of the Carrington Event of 1859 (if not, Google it). It was a massive solar flare that caused a lot of damage to the electrical and communications (telegraph) grid at the time. In today’s electrically dependent modern world, a similar scale solar storm would have catastrophic consequences. It would emit X-rays and ultraviolet light, which would interfere with electronics, as well as disrupting GPS satellites and blacking out radio communication on Earth. This would mean outages that would decommission everything from mobile phones and computers to automobiles and airplanes.

Such disturbances penetrate into the upper atmosphere (ionosphere) and cause auroras, which damage electrical power grids and can contribute to the erosion of oil and gas pipelines. (During a geomagnetic storm in 1989, for instance, Canada’s Hydro-Quebec power grid collapsed within 90 seconds, leaving millions without power). The cooling systems of nuclear power plants would also be compromised, causing them to release radioactivity into the environment, in Fukushima-type situations. A longer-term outage would likely include disruption of the transportation, communication, banking, and finance systems, as well as government services; the breakdown of the distribution of potable water owing to pump failure; and the loss of perishable foods and medications because of lack of refrigeration. Simply using a credit or debit card to pay for purchases in a store or at the gas pump requires a satellite transaction, the connection of which would no longer be possible.

In such a ‘solar explosion,’ a cloud of charged particles known as a coronal mass ejection (CME) would bump against Earth’s magnetic field and propel a burst of radiation into our atmosphere. Electric fluctuations at ground level could blow out transformers in power grids, leaving cities without power for weeks or months. There is a tendency these days to assess disasters in terms of money. For those who need to think in terms of currency to grasp the proportions of such a disaster, researchers in the U.S. reckon it would cost that country alone trillions of dollars in the first year, with full recovery taking up to ten years.

In my first blog in this series, three months ago, I wrote of the anticipation by many people of “The Event.” [preparing-for-the-event-what-will-it-mean-for-australia]. There are those who foresee a largescale ascension of humanity in 2020, and some of them believe we must first endure a cataclysm of some description – not the annihilation of the world, but an event that would force a restructure of humanity or, as Alexey Dmitriev said (above), lead to conditions that bring about “a total global revision of the range of species and life on Earth.”

Will our Sun lash out at us and, if so, could that be the catalyst for such an Event? Personally, I am not able to make a prediction on either the scale or date of such a massive solar flare, but if Jamal Shrair is right, then being forewarned is to be forearmed – without having to go all-out and become a “Preppie.” As a student of Cosolargy, I have come to understand that the Sun is changing, and we are changing with it, on a psychic and spiritual plane, if not on the physical level as well.

Lest it appear that I am predicting doom for planet Earth, I should balance this Blog with the more positive possibility put forward by Dr Robert Schoch and his wife, researcher Katie Ulissey, in the article “Is Our Sun Conscious?” (New Dawn Special Issue Vol.10 No.6). In it, they discuss the fact that the only reason the massive Solar Superstorm event of July 2012 did not devastate our society was that it was directed away from earth. They speculate that not only our Solar Orb, but all stars, might be conscious – and that consciousness may not be restricted to carbon-based forms of biological organisms. It would follow then, that the Sun may have purposefully released its energy discharge a week or so before it would be facing our world.

If this was the case, then it would not necessarily rule out the possibility of a coming world-changing event, but might lessen the severity of it on those of us living here on planet Earth. And I’m sure that my dear friend Valerie Barrow would happily concur that this scenario is more in line with her latest posted message from the Cosmic Sai Baba, that “there will not be a major holocaust upon this planet.”

Let’s remain positive that any imminent changes will be for the better and, if Old Sol is indeed conscious, that it will impart its lessons to us leniently. If an upgrade to the Human realm is upon us, may it be accomplished with the parental love and beneficence of the Sun!

Ocular Transmission of the Sun’s Light

In my last Blog I wrote about Sun-gazing, a topic which was fresh in my mind, having just attended the annual Cosolargy convocation during September.  The ritual of Sun-gazing has had a recent surge in popularity.  It was practised by a number of ancient cultures, including the Egyptians and Aztecs. Modern-day practitioners who claim success with it start at a minute or less per day and build up their exposure over time.  Sunrise and Sunset are the preferred times to view the Sun.  An informative source is the movie, ‘Eat the Sun’, available on line[1], or start with the trailer on You-Tube[2].

A fact well known to the ancient mystical orders, but less commonly realized among the general public today, is that the eyes not only receive light rays and relay them to the brain, but also transmit energy beams.  You can conduct a simple experiment to demonstrate this, by staring at a person some distance from you who is not looking in your direction, even when you are not facing one another.  More often than not they will turn to look directly back at you.  The more fixed your gaze, the greater the success.  Planet Earth is basically a big electro-magnet, and the very substance of the material world we live in is itself a conductive medium.  The human is the only mammal whose eye shows the sclera, or white of the eye, which is probably an indicator that we are the only mammal capable of transmitting as well as receiving light energy.

Back in the 1930s, Dr. Paul Brunton coined the term ‘Ocular Radiation’ for this phenomenon[3] but, unfortunately, should you do an on-line search for this phrase today, it will most likely yield information about medical radiation treatment.  A more apt title would be ‘Ocular Transmission.’  One way you can hone your skills in this practice is by focused contemplation.  I first experienced the awareness of eye-gazing at a focused meditation conducted by the Brahma Kumaris at Ubud, Bali, in 2002.  A group of about twenty people sat in a darkened room and focused on a pin-point of light on a neutral coloured wall in hour-long sessions.  The Hindu Yogis called this gazing meditation ‘Trataka.’  The effect is to awaken the knowledge that the beams of energy travel in two directions, both in and out of the eyes.  That the eyes are ‘the gateway’ or ‘window to the soul’ is an expression variously attributed to Shakespeare, The Gospel of Matthew, Herman Melville and Edgar Allen Poe.
Recognizing that the human eye is not only a passive receiver, but also an active transmitter of radiation, is of great assistance in utilising our creative energy, by sharpening the focus of our willpower.  It is said that this radiation consists of electricity and magnetism, the latter, of course, being the instrument of attraction.  There is much information out there these days on the popular topic of ‘The Law of Attraction (LOA),’ and Ocular Transmission enables one to cultivate and achieve fixed attention, while the pineal receptor works in drawing the object of desire to oneself.  It is advisable to first activate the line from the heart (of the true Self within) to the eyes before establishing your needs and wants, primarily because our real Self is the best judge for what is right for us and, furthermore, our aims have more chance of success if we believe in them ‘with all our heart.’  The reason why so many LOA practitioners fail in their attempts is they accept the validity of what their brain-based ego-self thinks it wants, when all the while there is a conflict going on at the subconscious level between the head and the heart.  Passionate beliefs of the heart will usually trump the capricious fancies of the brain.
With the two-way function of our ocular transceivers in mind, what result could be expected if the age-old art of ‘Sun-gazing’ was applied to transmitting our intentionally focused energy to the Sun, instead of just passively receiving its light and life-giving energy?

It is believed that bright light stimulates the production of serotonin and melatonin in the pineal, and it has been suggested that the pineal gland is involved in the production of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), and other peptides that have psychoactive effects.  The pineal sits above the mouth, suspended in the third ventricle, a chamber filled with cerebrospinal fluid which, it is said, can be released by combining Sun-gazing rituals with mantras.  These secretions have been called by various names: nectar of the gods, ambrosia, the living water, and amrita.  During Sun-gazing or deep meditation, this amrita is produced, fills the chamber then drips down the back of the throat.  Amrita has an intensely sweet taste described as nectar, honey, gold dust, euphoric, ecstatic or intoxicating.  A teaching from Sri Chinmoy states, “There are quite a few mantras that also help in opening the third eye. The Gayatri Mantra, for example, helps in opening the third eye, for it invokes the infinite knowledge, wisdom and light.” Sun yogis usually recite the Gayatri mantra while sun-gazing. The last line of this mantra can be translated as “May it [the Sun] activate the brain.”   People report that amitra usually is secreted while practicing the Khechari mudra (tongue upward on palate).[4]
Being aware that we can transmit as well as receive light, Sun-gazers might well reap extra benefit by using their ritual as a time of prayer, expressing intentions, desires and, most beneficially, gratitude.  Quantum science describes ‘The Role of the Observer’ in these terms: “Whatever is being watched is affected by whoever is watching it”.  Those who do not Sun-gaze can nonetheless benefit from facing the morning or evening Sun with eyes closed and focusing their attention on the pineal gland as their transceiver, while intoning their chosen mantra.  According to Canadian blogger Molly A. Chapman, “When you look directly at the sun’s rays, send intent, visualizations, thoughts, feelings, and sensations of divine virtues and situations to bless all, and send any request, through the optic nerve into the rays of the sun. […] Looking at the sun at sunrise or sunset is safe on the eye, and over time, the eye is capable of looking for longer periods of time at brighter light… Remember to send blessings and prayers as well as receive when you gaze at the light.”[5]

Medical practitioners still warn of its potential dangers and I stress that my purpose is not to encourage untrained persons to engage in it, but rather to recommend that those interested should first investigate it thoroughly and talk to existing practitioners, before embarking on any experiments of their own.  A great starting place, for those interested, is the newly revamped Cosolargy website.  Direct staring at the Sun itself should be avoided – gazers usually look around it rather than directly at it, and only at Sunrise or Sunset.

Viewing & Absorbing the Sun

As I write this, we have just crossed the September Equinox and a number of people I know have posted about it on social media, with comments such as it being an opportune time to receive healing energies from the Sun.

I’ve just returned from the annual Cosolargy convocation in Reno, Nevada USA, where the Sun featured prominently in our discussions and activities. Over several consecutive mornings I joined large gatherings of members at elevated sacred places in the high desert country to partake in respectful ceremonies, as we viewed the rising of the Sun. It manifested itself slightly differently to us on each occasion and, even when a smoky haze drifted in from fires in a neighbouring state one morning, the large orange solar orb did not fail to impress us with its majesty.

Back at home in Australia, I will be writing and talking about Cosolargy a lot in future. In addition to solar techniques, the Community’s teachings cover a wide range of subjects including the force centres (chakras), higher dimensions, the Light body, solar viewing (Sun gazing), healing with sound and light, ancient solar cultures, Andean explorations, and the transformation of humans into a new world species.

Sun Gazing has become increasingly popular in recent years. A quick search online will produce a myriad of web sites advancing some form of solar viewing. We know that many ancient cultures and civilizations held the Sun in high regard. But in many cases, this, too, went far beyond the commonly held concept of “Sun worship.” The great spiritual Masters and Teachers knew that the physical Sun was actually a gateway to another world – a Sun behind the Sun. They also knew that sunlight was the conveyor of Intelligence and Information. This was the teaching of the great Masters of the mystery schools on which the noble religions and philosophies of the world were originally founded. A few years ago, I wrote a brief summary of the ancient cultures who venerated the Sun, for New Dawn magazine (Special Issue Vol 10 No.6, Dec 2016). The list included Egypt, India, Sumeria, China, Britain, Greece, Rome, Palestine & Syria, Central & South America, Japan.

My personal work has always drawn me in particular to Western Civilization and religion, during the period of the past two and a half thousand years. I believe that this sphere of time and place was deliberately created, and is now nearing its inevitable end. The seeds of Western Civilization were, I believe, sown in Greece by a luminary (referred to later as a ‘deity’) called Apollo. His teachings were disseminated first by Pythagoras, followed by Empedocles and later, Plato. [I should mention that this paragraph is part of my own personal instruction and may not necessarily coincide with the teachings of Cosolargy].

The respected author Peter Kingsley has written, “Civilizations never just happen. They are brought into existence quite consciously, with unbelievable compassion and determination, from another world. Then the job of people experienced in ecstasy is to prepare the soil for them; carefully sow and plant them; care for them; watch them grow. And each culture is just like a tree whose essence and whole potential are already contained in the seed. Nothing during the course of a civilization is ever discovered, or invented, or created, which was not already present inside that seed.”[1]

The Ancient Greeks believed the Sun we see is just the physical form of a higher ‘Intelligible or Spiritual Sun.’ Philo of Alexandria called it: “The Sun of the sun, the Intelligible object behind the object comprehensible by sense, and from invisible fountains he supplies the visible beams which our eyes behold.”[2]  In addition to the light, heat and solar winds the Sun sends our way, the Greeks taught that our Psyche receives a more subtle, invisible life-force called Pneuma, which, along with rays of the light spectrum, enters the human being via the eyes. I will write more about the connection between the Sun and our eyes in a future blog.

The Pythagoreans of Greece, as well as the followers of Plato, held the Sun and the associated solar deities in high esteem. It is likely that they too were Sun-gazing. The Greeks and Romans were known to use sunlight for healing various physical and mental illnesses.

The Essenes were known to rise early in the morning, take a ritual bath, then climb to the highest spot in the area to pray while observing the rising Sun.

St. Francis of Assisi was by no means a pagan Sun worshiper, yet his spiritual awakening involved the Sun. Few realize the importance of the fact that he was laying in his bed watching the sunrise, when the revelation that awakened his spiritual side and transformed his life occurred.

Jacob Boehme was another great Christian mystic who was awakened by the Sun. Jacob was carrying a shiny metal bowl when the morning Sun reflected off it, striking him in the eyes. He entered a kind of ecstasy that lasted several days. When he came out of it, he began writing a series of books on spirituality and spiritual growth.

In the interests of being inclusive, I should add that Cosolargy is not the only community that embraces Sun gazing as part of it practices, although I hasten to add that it does not publish its techniques indiscriminately. Information is imparted to its members as part of an orderly and organized system. A Google search will often lead seekers to others who publish their ideas openly, and the uninitiated need to be aware of certain dangers involved in self-tuition.

One such popular source is the HRM method, so named after Hira Ratan Manek, who shares a yogic technique of Sun gazing.  HRM has given free lectures in many countries and rightly points out that most parts of Australia host ideal conditions for Sun-gazers who, they say, should practice at the safe times of Sunrise and Sunset, after proper instruction.

Following is an extract of HRM’s method, as described on the SunEnlightenment website:
Sungazing is a one-time practice of your lifetime usually for a period of 9 months.  You can break up the practice in three phases. 0 to 3months, 3-6months and 6- 9months.  You have to walk barefoot for 45 minutes for the rest of your life. Food makes us commit the maximum pain to others and exploit others.  The practice entails looking at the rising or setting Sun one time per day only during the safe hours.  No harm will come to your eyes during the morning and evening safe hours.  The safe hours are anytime within 1-hour window after sunrise or anytime within the 1-hr window before sunset”

“First day, during the safe hours, look for a maximum of 10 seconds. Second day look for 20 seconds at the rising sun adding ten seconds every succeeding day.  So at the end of 10 continuous days of sun gazing you will be looking at the sun for 100 seconds i.e. 1 minute and 40 seconds. Stand on bare earth with bare foot.  Eyes can blink and/or flicker.  Stillness or Steadiness of the eyes is not required.  Do not where any lenses or glasses while Sungazing.”

The transcendent system of Cosolargy – a modern term for an ancient spiritual discipline of becoming – has been practiced by solar mystics and spiritual seekers the world over, and this year is an auspicious time for the Community, as it celebrates the 60th anniversary of its founding. It teaches the individual how to use the light of the physical Sun to enhance not only physical attributes, but dormant psycho-spiritual faculties as well. The force centres (chakras) are enlivened; they begin to spin and take on personality. Importantly, they are developed in harmony with each other. In time, the practicing solar adept penetrates beyond physical sunlight into Worlds of Light, or spiritual worlds, a place beyond the physical but from where it emerged. The process takes one on a personal journey where they can retrace their origin to the Godhead and escape the cycle of life and death. It is a revitalizing experience – one which goes far beyond ordinary Sun gazing.

As always, I add the caveat: Gazing at the Sun should not be undertaken without guidance from experienced experts.  Direct staring at the Sun itself should be avoided – gazers usually look around it rather than directly at it, and only at Sunrise or Sunset.

The Light Body – Real, or Merely Poetic?

I believe that to survive into the future, humans will have to activate their light bodies in the fifth dimensional state – having form and substance, but beyond flesh-and-blood bodies like present-day humans. Many traditions speak of humankind’s ‘fall’ and it seems that the hybrid offspring of otherworldly visitors somehow became trapped in physical form. If the DNA of those distant ancestors is still driving us, it may be the destiny of humanity to return to this higher state of being.

Sound far-fetched? The authors James Redfield, Michael Murphy and Sylvia Timbers, in their book God and the Evolving Universe, suggested that such a state of existence is a “dimension in the chain of human evolution,” stating, “In short, we propose that our emergent capacities, which alter our physical functioning to some degree whenever they make their appearance, can gradually give rise to a new and more luminous embodiment.”

They quote the likes of Saint Paul, Origen, Saint Thomas Aquinas and writer Romano Guardini in positing that humanity can exist in another state, being neither the physical body nor the soul, but a kind of spiritualized corporeality which is no longer limited by conventional time and space. I relate this state to what the ancient Egyptians called the Duat – an intermediate plane or state between the Visible and the Intelligible. The piece by Saint Paul that they refer to is to be found in his first letter to the Corinthians, Ch.15, verses 39 to 41: “All flesh is not the same: men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendour of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendour of the earthly bodies is another. The Sun has one kind of splendour, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendour.” Paul goes on to add, in verse 44, “If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.”

James Redfield was already developing this hypothesis in his earlier works, such as the Celestine Vision, where he wrote, “Our overriding purpose has been to raise our energy level to the point where we can walk into the Afterlife dimension, essentially merging the two dimensions into one.” His allegorical work The Secret of Shambhala has the lead character utter the words, “The Tibetans believe that there is another, more spiritual reality beyond the physical worlds we can see, and that Shambhala, while here on this Earth, lies in the spiritual realm.”

If we recognize that our world was produced by the Sun in a physical sense and that it continues to nourish us with life-giving energy, is it possible that there are conscious living beings dwelling on our star, whose ‘bodies’ are composed of photons rather than atoms? Down here on earth, scientists are working on making a new form of matter based on photons. Harvard Professor Mikhail Lukin has said, “Most of the properties of light we know about originate from the fact that photons are massless, and that they do not interact with each other. What we have done is create a special type of medium in which photons interact with each other so strongly that they begin to act as though they have mass, and they bind together to form molecules. This type of photonic bound state has been discussed theoretically for quite a while, but until now it hadn’t been observed.”

We already knew that light photons can behave like either a wave or a particle, depending on the circumstances. Now we learn that photon particles can behave like atoms and interact with each other so strongly they begin to act as though they have mass, then bind together to form molecules. These molecules can, again under the right conditions, mingle with physical matter. Both photons and the vital life force – which I like to refer to as Pneuma – are generated from the Sun. From this knowledge arises the possibility of the two combining to create life forms that could, at will, behave as if they had physical mass and thereby intermingle with human beings.

While religion, spirituality and mysticism have been the trustees of ancient wisdom and truth throughout history, good-old twentieth century scientific empiricism stripped away much of Western culture’s spiritual belief systems. But quantum physics theorists are ushering in a new kind of awareness and understanding. Brian Greene, the foremost modern writer on physics and science, has written in detail about the ‘Hidden World,’ and String Theory predicts that there are at least ten more dimensions in addition to the one we live in. Those who struggle with believing in the ‘spirit world’ proposed by religions, might instead accept the idea of ‘dimensions’ as proposed by quantum physicists. It’s all in the terminology, and the concept of dimensions can in fact account for a range of phenomena such as ghosts, angels, OOBE and some UFO sightings.

In Taoism it is said that by the sublimation of ching (semen or psychological essence), chi (breath or vital force), and shen (mind or spirit), an adept can form a ‘spirit-child’ or ‘spirit-body,’ the vehicle of everlasting life. Such teachings reflect the long-standing Taoist belief that humans can advance to higher forms of embodiment, in this flesh or a substance crested within it.

In his famous book Autobiography of a Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda recalled the words of his Master Sri Yukteswar, who said that “God encased the human soul successively in three bodies – the idea, or causal body; the subtle astral body, seat of man’s mental and emotional natures; and the gross physical body.” In later passages, he is quoted as stating, “When a soul is out of the cocoon of the three bodies it escapes forever from the law of relativity and becomes the ineffable Ever-Existent. Behold the butterfly of Omnipresence, its wings etched with stars and moons and suns!” [Paramahansa compares this to the Biblical Book of Revelations, 3:12, interpreting its words ‘Never again will he leave it’ as meaning the person who attained that state will not have to reincarnate any more].

When it comes to quoting from the scriptures, I find myself treading warily, because oftentimes selected lines are used out of context to back up one’s particular viewpoint. Nevertheless, I do like exploring the non-canonical texts (those that are not included in the popular mainstream Bible) and many years ago I acquired a large volume of the complete gospels which contains a lot of rare manuscripts. One of those that I am drawn to describes the experience of his beloved Apostle John, during the last days of the Christ on Earth, in the Acts of John: 93. “Another glory also will I tell you, brethren: Sometimes when I would lay hold on him, I met with a material and solid body, and at other times, again, when I felt him, the substance was immaterial and as if it existed not at all. […] And oftentimes when I walked with him, I desired to see the print of his foot, whether it appeared on the earth; for I saw him as it were lifting himself up from the earth: and I never saw it.”

It is apparent that millions of religious devotees around the world believe in the possibility of having a light body, at least in the case of one great man, but it is not so clear that all see the inherent potential of the whole human race to activate their light bodies. To the ancient followers of the Sun, the doctrines of unseen planes of existence – along with the transmutation of humans into bodies of light – were considered not just as speculative philosophies, but rather as incorporating practical methods to be undertaken for connecting the inner, true Self to the Intelligible Sun… thereby creating the light body.

The message from the sages is that the Light Body is attainable, but we have to work on it. And, of course, the essential component is LIGHT.
